All three screenplays were written in 2006-2007 years and then partially rewritten.
None of them have been sold and shot yet, although some companies were interested in doing it.
One British film production company planned to purchase the first screenplay but could not find financing.
And one American company wanted to option/purchase the first and second screenplays but the price was too small for me.
A short description of the style of my works: I'm a folk-writer.
«Blood on the Snow» – gritty social drama with a religious subtext analyzing American, European and Jewish values.
In crime-ridden cold Moscow (Russia) a Jewish guy breaks free from the gangster clan of his relatives, gets education and emigrates to America after killing four men.
(For the international teenage, youth and adult audiences.)
The main characters of the story are Mountain Jews.
They differ significantly by culture from Ashkenazi Jews which are usually shown in movies.
The initial version of the script was about Muslims from Northern Caucasus.
But due to political situation in Russia and the world I think this movie would look too "hard".
And I don't want to touch political topics.
That's why I decided to replace Caucasian Muslims with Mountain Jews - they have almost identical culture and traditions,
and there are several well known movies about Jewish gangsters ("Once Upon a Time in America" etc). So the audience
will easily accept such story.
«The City of Winter Dreams» – romantic Christmas tragicomedy.
This screenplay exists in 4 versions:
a) American version
Three love stories with Hispanic, Jewish and Indian motifs in New York (USA) on New Year's Eve. World ethnic music and dances, hot Southern girls, a whole lot of social problems, one fatal shot and the close up of a kiss at the end of the movie.
(For the international teenage and youth audiences.)
b) British version
Three love stories with Irish, Jewish and Indian motifs in London (UK) on New Year's Eve. World ethnic music and dances, hot Southern girls, a whole lot of social problems, one fatal shot and the close up of a kiss at the end of the movie.
(For the international teenage and youth audiences.)
c) German version
Three love stories with Irish, Jewish and Indian motifs in Berlin (Germany) on New Year's Eve. World ethnic music and dances, hot Southern girls, a whole lot of social problems, one fatal shot and the close up of a kiss at the end of the movie.
(For the European teenage and youth audiences.)
d) European version
Three love stories with Irish, Jewish and Armenian motifs in Moscow (Russia) on New Year's Eve. Folk music and dances, hot Southern girls, a whole lot of social problems, one fatal shot and the close up of a kiss at the end of the movie.
(For the Russian and European teenage and youth audiences.)
«Big Project» – youth psychological drama about different ways of three computer programmer friends enter adult life in Russia at the beginning of 21st century.
The Russian-"careerist" builds his career and emigrates to Australia. The Jew-"artist" looks for "real love" and tries to understand "the nature of woman", but finds only people preoccupied with sex and money, becomes disappointed with life and commits suicide. The Tatar-"simple guy" marries a whore, accepts his fate and consoles himself with a thought that "simple guys" are "real super muzhiks" who hold the world on their shoulders.
(For the Russian and European teenage and youth audiences.)
I can't write professionally on daily basis and do it with use of inspiration only in the critical moments of my life. That's why it's difficult
to say whether I will write again and when it will happen.
